✨ Burnout doesn’t always arrive dramatically. Sometimes it quietly slips in while you’re busy being terribly capable.
Suddenly you’re exhausted after doing very little, everything irritates you, your motivation has packed a small suitcase, and even things you normally enjoy feel like another item on the list.
Prevent It Before You’re Running on Sparkles & Caffeine
Protect your peace before you desperately need it.
Take the break. Drink the water. Eat something with actual nutritional value. Get some sleep. Leave gaps in your schedule. Say no occasionally without presenting a 14-page explanation to the committee.
And please, have parts of your life that accomplish absolutely nothing.
Read. Paint. Wander around a bookshop. Sit somewhere lovely. Take the unnecessarily luxurious bath. Put your phone down and stare dramatically out a window.
Rest is part of the plan, not the reward at the end of it.
Already Burned Out?
Then we are not launching a grand personal reinvention on Tuesday afternoon.
Simplify.
Do what genuinely needs doing and temporarily loosen your grip on the rest. Eat regularly. Hydrate. Sleep. Get outside. Move gently. Ask for help. Reduce unnecessary decisions and give your brain fewer things to manage.
If something can wait, darling, let it wait.
Burnout isn't proof that you're incapable.
Sometimes it's simply your mind and body sending a rather strongly worded memo:
“This pace is no longer working for me.”
Read the memo.
Adjust accordingly.
Then carry on, preferably hydrated and slightly more fabulous. ✨🌿
Go get your-self a massage if you can honey!
