You Can Be a Work in Progress Without Being a Problem to Fix.

Somewhere along the way, we learned to look at ourselves like projects.

Something to improve.
Something to correct.
Something to heal.
Something to fix.

But what if you’re not broken?

What if you’re simply becoming?

You can have things you want to change without believing there is something wrong with you. You can make mistakes, change your mind, struggle with old patterns, set new boundaries, start over, and still be worthy of patience and compassion.

Growth is messy.

Sometimes it looks like progress. Sometimes it looks like taking three steps forward and two steps back. Sometimes it looks like realizing that the thing you thought you wanted no longer fits who you are.

That doesn't mean you failed.

It means you're paying attention.

You don't have to have your life figured out before you're allowed to enjoy it.

You don't have to be completely healed before you're allowed to feel proud of yourself.

And you don't have to become some perfectly polished version of yourself to be deserving of love, connection, or a fresh start.

You are allowed to be unfinished.

Maybe the goal isn't to fix yourself.

Maybe it's to understand yourself.

To listen a little closer.
To forgive yourself for what you didn't know then.
To make different choices when you know better.
To keep becoming someone you actually want to live with.

That's growth, too.

You can be a work in progress without being a problem to fix.

And honestly?

That's a pretty beautiful place to begin.
